Police Recruit

EARN UP TO $91,676 / year
WHILE ATTENDING 6 MONTH ACADEMY

Minimum requirements

  • must be at least 20 years of age at time of application and 21 years of age at time of appointment;

  • must have a valid California Driver's License at time of appointment;

  • must meet citizenship requirements as defined under California Government Code Sections 1031(a) and 1031.5

  • minimum education of High school Diploma or GED;

  • able to pass rigorous background process

Lateral Police Officer

Earn up to $145,000 / year
plus New Hire Incentive Pay up to $25,000

Minimum requirements

Applicants currently employed as a paid, full-time sworn Peace Officer (or equivalent) with a California city Police, county Sheriff, or state law enforcement agency with at least one year of continuous full-time law enforcement experience at time of application. A copy of the appropriate POST certificate must be submitted at time of application.

Police Dispatcher

Dispatch trainee
Lateral Dispatcher

The Dispatch Trainee position earn up to $85,726 per year. Newly hired employees in this position may receive up to a $5,000 relocation allowance for expenses incurred for the relocation of the employee and their immediate family.

Our Lateral Dispatcher position is for individuals who have experience in Police Dispatching with a salary of up to $94,299/year (depending on qualifications).

Minimum requirements

  • must be at least 18 years of age at time of application.

  • must have a valid California Driver's License at time of appointment;

  • must meet citizenship requirements as defined under California Government Code Sections 1031(a) and 1031.5

  • minimum education of High school Diploma or GED OR have two years of responsible clerical, administrative, public information or emergency service, including radio-telephone communications, work;

  • able to pass rigorous background process

  • 40 wpm typing certificate at the time of application

Police Communications Systems Manager

Earn up to $161,148 / year
plus New Hire relocation allowance up to $5,000

The Police Communications Systems Manager will plan, organize, direct, and manage the staff, operations and activities of the Police Communications Center; assist with planning, identification, and implementation of dispatch related technology, coordinate activities with other divisions or departments; and provide highly responsible support to an assigned Police Captain.

Minimum requirements

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

  • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in a public safety communications center, including two years of supervisory responsibility

  • Training equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work business administration, public administration, or related field.

  • Possession of a Basic Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Public Safety Dispatcher Certificate.
